Body: Ephesians 2: 1 - 7

I. A Life Dead.

A. We were dead.

1. We had died because of our trespasses (fall or lapse).
2. We had died because of our sins (habitual choice).

B. The way we walked.

1. Like everyone else in the world.
2. Under the direction of Satan.
3. Chasing the fleshly.
a. Focused upon its lusts.
b. Attempting to fulfill its desires.

C. Children of Wrath.

1. Subject to perdition and the punishment of God.
2. Inheritors of eternal condemnation.

II. God Has Intervened.

A. God is rich in mercy.

1. He is patient, not wanting any to perish (2 Peter 3: 9)
2. He is willing to forgive.

B. God has a great love for us.

1. He has put up with our weakness and rebellion.
2. He paid the price for our redemption.

C. God has made us alive with Christ.

1. We have been saved by His grace.
2. We have been raised up with Christ.
3. We have been seated with Christ.

D. God is showing His exceeding kindness.

Conclusion:

A. Good News - God Loves You!

1. He has raised you from the dead.

2. He has seated you with Christ (at His right hand!).

3. He is showering you with His exceeding kindness.
