THE ARMOR OF GOD

Introduction:

A. We Are At War.

B. Are We Prepared?

1. To go into battle against Satan.

2. To defend our hope and our eternal life.

Body: Ephesians 6: 14 - 17

I. Stand Therefore.

A. We cannot battle Satan sitting or laying down.

B. We have not been given orders to retreat.

C. We are to stand our ground.

II. The Armor.

A. Belt of Truth.

1. We must face reality.
2. We must see and know what is right.

B. Breastplate of Righteousness.

1. Our hearts are to be protected.
2. God has provided us with His righteousness.

C. Shoes of the Gospel of Peace.

1. Our ability to battle is proportional to our preparation.
2. We must prepare ourselves with the Gospel.
3. We walk by means of Good News of Peace.
a. We can make peace with one another.
b. We can accept peace with God.

D. Shield of Faith.

1. Satan is throwing fiery darts.
2. The smaller our faith the more difficult it is to protect from the darts.

E. Helmet of Salvation.

1. Remember, we are more than conquerors!
2. Remember, we have already been provided salvation.
3. Remember, only God can destroy the soul.

F. Sword of the Spirit.

1. The Word of God is our weapon.
2. The Word of God is our answer to the temptations of Satan.
