A. Loved God and his wife (Genesis 24: 62 – 67; 25: 20, 21).

1. Went to meditate.
2. Rebekah brought from a far country.
3. Loved this woman he did not previously know.

B. Was not arrogant (Genesis 25: 7 – 11).

1. Allowed Ishmael to be included at father’s funeral.
2. Had received all from Abraham.

C. Tried to live in peace (Genesis 26: 17 – 25).

1. Digs wells, locals fill them, moves on.
2. Digs wells, locals quarrel over them, moves on.
3. Digs wells, no trouble, God has made room for them.

II. Blessing Of Sons (Genesis 27: 1 – 40).

A. Deception by Jacob (vs. 1 – 25).

1. Isaac sent Esau for meal.
2. Rebekah prepared Jacob and substitute food.
3. Jacob went in to his blind father and convince him he was Esau.

B. The blessing upon Jacob (vs. 27 – 29).

1. God’s blessing of plenty of provisions.
2. Jacob ruling over all others.
3. Blessing upon good, cursing upon the evil.

C. The blessing upon Esau (vs. 39, 40).

1. Dwell in God’s blessed earth.
2. Live by the sword.
3. Serve his brother.
4. Will finally be free of brother’s yoke.

Conclusion:

A. By Faith, Isaac…

1. Lived a life pleasing to God.

2. Continued the heritage of his father.

3. Passed faith in God to his sons.

B. Do We Have A Faith Like Isaac?
