I. At Worship Service.

A. Jesus is teaching.

1. Preacher in town.
2. Allowed to speak during service.
3. Location not given.

B. He sees a woman with an infirmity.

1. She was bent over.
2. Could not raise herself (always looking down).
3. She had suffered this way for 18 years.

C. He heals the woman.

1. He calls her to himself.
2. Tells her she is being loosed.
3. Lays His hands on her.
4. Her back is straightened.

II. Different Reactions.

A. Ruler of the Synagogue.

1. Healing was an act of common labor.
2. Healing was taking glory from God by breaking the Sabbath.

B. Jesus' Reply.

1. Untying an animal to take to water not work.
2. Loosing a woman from the power of Satan not a work.
3. It brought special praise, honor and glory to God.

C. The Multitudes - rejoiced for all the glorious things done.

D. The Woman - glorified God (v. 13).
