A. Is family more important?

1. Would you be loyal to parents or Christ?
2. Would you be loyal to brothers and sisters or Christ?
3. Would you defend your country or Christ?

B. Is personal well-being more important?

1. Would you take a bullet for Christ?
2. Would you leave family and home to serve Christ?
3. Would you give up personal success for Christian success?

II. Two Practical Illustrations.

A. A Builder.

1. Decides to build a building.
2. First, determines if can afford it.

B. A Country Ruler.

1. An impending war.
2. The ruler first determines chance of victory.

III. What Are You Worth?

A. Ye are the salt of the earth.

1. We are the seasoning of the earth.
2. We preserve what is right and good.
3. We enhance and make it better.
4. There is nothing else quite like us.

B. What gives salt its worth?

1. If we are not doing our job, what are we worth?
2. If we are useless, what will be our fate?

Conclusion:

A. Are You A Disciple of Jesus?

1. Answer carefully.

2. Have you forsaken all?

3. Are you worth what you are supposed to be?
