AS A LITTLE CHILD

Introduction:

A. Have You Ever Seen A "Difficult Child?"

1. One that was so annoying you had to get away from.

2. One that whined or cried incessantly.

3. One so rotten it spoiled everything.

B. What Can We Learn From Such?

Body: Luke 18: 15 - 17

I. Children Were Brought.

A. Young Children = infants, toddlers, preschool.

B. Brought by adults.

1. To be touched "by the Master."
2. To be blessed "by the Master."

C. Hindered by misguided.

1. Jesus had more important things to do.
2. Jesus already had too much work (i.e. teaching, miracles).
3. Waste of valuable time and resources.

II. Do Not Forbid.

A. Jesus teaches about the right way.

B. Children are to be brought to Christ.

1. Never too early to "expose them to Christ."
2. Habits begin early (i.e. hindering from access).

C. They are an important example of discipleship.

III. As A Little Child

A. Being brought by parents.

B. Innocence and Respect.

C. Humility and Awe.

D. Acceptance and Forgiving.

E. Ever Learning.

F. Continually trying and trying and trying...

Conclusion:

A. We Are Children Of God!

1. We must be humble.

2. We must be ever learning.

3. We must be respectful and obedient.

4. We must always be in wonder and awe of God and His work.
