I. Jesus Confronted (vs. 1 - 8).

A. Question Jesus concerning His authority.

B. Refused to answer concerning John's baptism.

C. Jesus refused to answer about His authority.

II. A Man And His Vineyard.

A. He plants a vineyard.

1. This is property he owns.
2. He planted and prepared the property for a vineyard.

B. He leases it to vinedressers.

1. They watch and tend the vines.
2. They harvest the crop.
3. They are paid what they contracted to do the work for.

C. Their wickedness.

1. They refuse to "share" what is rightfully the landowners.
2. They assault and abuse servants of the owner.
3. They kill the owner's son.

D. Vengeance For Their Actions.

1. The owner comes and destroys them.
2. The vineyard is given to other vinedressers.

III. The Chief Priests And Scribes.

A. Disagree with the outcome.

1. They do not believe the owner would come in vengeance?
2. They do not believe there are other vinedressers?
3. They do not believe the wicked vinedressers did anything wrong?

B. Understand the "target" of the parable.

2. They want to do as the wicked vinedressers did - kill the Son.
