A WILLING LORD

Introduction:

A. If Jesus Appeared Right Here...

1. Would you worship and praise Him?

2. Would you want to touch Him?

3. Would you ask Him any questions?

B. Would You Believe In Him?

Body: Luke 5: 12 - 16

I. A Certain City.

A. Name not important.

B. Located somewhere in Galilee.

II. A Man.

A. A hideous disease.

1. Has leprosy - skin rots and falls off.
2. He is FULL of it - has it all over (terminal).

B. A "dangerous" question!?

1. Falls on his face - an act of worship.
2. Implores or begs Jesus - a last ditch plea.
3. A question of willingness?
a. Does Jesus want to help and have compassion?
b. Recognizes Jesus has the ability.

III. Jesus.

A. His actions.

1. Jesus reaches toward the man.
2. Jesus touches the man.
a. How long had it been since this man had come this close to a non-diseased person?
b. How long had it been since he had been touched?

B. "You have seen the Father…"

1. Jesus does not rebuke his questioning on willingness.
2. Jesus was willing to do more than just heal.
3. God wants to heal and affirm His love for everyone.

C. Instructs the man to obey God's command.

IV. The Results.

A. Cannot keep quiet - highly visible, terminal illness gone!!!

B. Multitudes come to hear and be healed.

C. Jesus often withdrew to a solitary place.

A. What "Infirmities" Are You Plagued With?

B. God Wants You To Be Whole And Wholly Devoted To Him!
