1. Mount was before selection of apostles.  Plain followed selection.

2. Both start with Beatitudes.

3. Both deal with Godly living with changed attitudes and actions.

I. Blessings [care and protection of God].

A. On the poor.

B. On the hungry.

C. On those who mourning.

D. On those persecuted.

II. Woes [God will be against].

A. On the rich.

B. On the full.

C. On those who laugh.

D. On those who are well liked.

III. What Is Jesus Condemning?

A. The rich were rich because of stealing from the poor.

B. The satisfied were satisfied because they withheld from the hungry.

C. The happy were laughing because of how "naive and easy" the downtrodden were.

D. The well liked said and did what it took to be popular.

Conclusion:

A. What Is Our Attitude?

1. Do we make sure we are taken care of and see if there is any extra for others?

2. Do we get what we can no matter what the expense to others?

3. Are we uncaring about the plight of those less fortunate?

4. Who do we look up to and try to befriend?
