PERFECT REST

Introduction:

A. What Do You Do When You Receive An Invitation.

1. Read it.

2. Decide if you want to accept, go, etc.

3. Respond to the invitation (accept, deny, don’t answer…)

B. What Have You Done With The Lord’s Invitation?

Body: Matthew 11: 28 - 30

I. Jesus Invites.

A. He calls out to us.

B. He reaches toward us.

C. He waits for us.

II. What He Provides.

A. He gives us rest.

1. Rest from the heavy burdens of worry.

a. Worry about what will happen in this life.

b. Worry about what the future holds.

2. Rest from the heavy burdens of sin.

3. Rest from the heavy burdens of fear and guilt.

B. He gives us knowledge.

1. He reveals God the Father to us (v. 27).

2. He reveals the truth to us (John 1: 17).

3. He reveals the "future" to us.

a. Those who follow Him will reside in heaven.

b. Those who do not follow Him will reside in hell.

C. He does not over burden us.

1. Our obligations and responsibilities are not too much.

2. The requirements are not overly hard.

III. What We Must Do.

A. We must hear His invitation.

B. We must come to Him.

C. We must take His burden.

Conclusion:

A. Jesus Is Asking You!

1. He wants your life to be full of joy.

2. He wants you to be able to make it home.

3. He wants you to have you burden eased.
