A. A spectator sport.
B. A performance for human approval - we are to be pleasing God, not men.
C. A meeting of equals - God is God and we are His children.
D. A means to earn God’s blessings - we have no right to ask God to bless us for "going to church."
E. A substitute for repentance - worship will not absolve us of our responsibility to obey God’s commands.
F. A series of human traditions - it is not praying, singing, reading Scripture, taking the Lord’s Supper, etc.

D. It is a time to encourage one another (Hebrews 3: 12, 13; 10: 24, 25)
